The WCCS Early Childhood program exists to nurture the whole child and foster awareness of God’s love through biblically integrated play-based learning experiences.
The environment is distinctively Christian and lays the foundation for spiritual growth while providing the knowledge, skills and dispositions that lay the groundwork for academic success.
Early childhood teachers partner with parents (the primary educators) to support and encourage each child as he/she grows along the development continuum. God has uniquely created each child and WCCS acknowledges and celebrates those differences, recognizing that everyone develops according to an individual timeline. WCCS early childhood teachers are students of their students, taking time to become acquainted with each child. As they learn each child’s ways, thinking, talents, temperament, strengths, and current stage of development, they plan individualized experiences to meet the diverse learning needs. The curriculum provides hands-on learning through structured and non-structured activities that foster curiosity, imagination, problem-solving, engagement, creativity, discovery, and the joy of learning.
