Our lower school students are nurtured in a safe environment where they are prepared spiritually as well as academically.
WCCS Early Childhood program provides an excellent, Christ-centered learning environment for our Infant-4K students. This program lays an important foundation for growth in all areas of development, especially in fostering a love and understanding of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. The Early Childhood curriculum is designed to teach the whole child using age appropriate activities. During both free-play and structured activities, children learn through hands on experiences, social interaction, singing and finger plays, rhythm and sound with musical instruments, creative development with craft activities, and by listening to Bible and children's stories.
Our highly trained and qualified teachers desire to partner with parents to lay the foundation for future learning. The curriculum in each subject area offers grade-appropriate challenge and is enriched with hands-on learning activities. Small class size allows our teachers to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of individual students in the classroom.
Core subjects include: language arts with phonics-based reading, math (rooted in the Primary Mathematics system), social studies, science, and Bible. Students are also able to enjoy art, music, physical education, Spanish, keyboarding, library, and chapel as weekly enrichment classes.
Westminster Catawba Christian School admits students of any race, color, and national or ethnic origin.
