Annual Fund

Giving Opportunities         Frequently Asked Questions        Annual Fund Update

God has richly blessed Westminster Catawba Christian School over the years.  His hand has guided the school through many obstacles and experiences, and we now face a new challenge - one in which the expanding needs of our students and faculty can be met along with the anticipated future growth that we anticipate on the horizon.

We have been humbled and enriched through the sacrificial generosity of many individuals.  Their contributions to the vision and mission of WCCS have advanced the kingdom of God through a quality, Christ-centered education.  there are several opportunities listed here for assisting this vision which highlights our Annual Fund Campaign for the 2001 - 2002 year.

Our mission statement states that WCCS desires a partnership with parents.  this vitally important group is composed of alumni, current school parents, community leaders and friends who share our vision to see our students prepared academically, physically and spiritually to pursue God's calling in their lives.

Our Annual Fund goal for 2001 - 2002 is $100,000 and 100% participation.  The size of one's gift is not as important as the gift itself.  Know that every gift will be applied directly toward securing the future of our students.

We invite you to join in our partnership of continuing a quality Christian atmosphere in which great learning takes place.  Prayerfully consider your part in this campaign.  Your generous contribution will enable WCCS to offer a learning environment dedicated to excellence as well as strengthening the foundation of quality Christian education in the rapidly growing region.  Something dynamic and special is happening at Westminster Catawba Christian School.  Come and be a part of it!

Frequently Asked Questions

I pay tuition and it increases annually.  Where will my gift go?

Tuition covers the operating costs of the school.  Annual increases in tuition are a reflection of the need for teacher and staff pay raises, increases in benefits, as well as the over-all general operation budget of the school.

All Annual Fund donations go toward developmental costs (e.g. facility enhancements; major equipment like buses; academic, athletic or music enhancements, endowments and scholarships; etc.).  Donors may designate their gift to specific categories.

Doesn't the Church support the school financially?

Westminster Presbyterian Church (WPC) supports WCCS with an annual monetary gift.  Of the ministries WPC supports, WCCS is one of the top recipients of financial assistance.  WPC also absorbs most of the cost of using the Westminster Campus.  In addition, WPC recently contributed to the purchase of an additional school bus.  This bus will be used by both school campuses as well as for specific transportation needs arising at WPC.

Will my contribution be used only for the Capital Campaign?

Contributors will have a choice as to where their dollars will go - a menu of sorts, outlined above - which will specifically benefit a particular area of WCCS.  If you have no preference, then you do not need to designate your gift.

How are donations to the Annual Fund allocated?

Unless directed by the donor, the board will determine the areas to apply the Annual Fund.  As mentioned previously, the Annual Fund will be used for developmental needs only, which are not a part of the day-to-day operating costs.

Will I be asked for a contribution each year?

Yes.  We would like to count on your contribution annually.  During the fall of each year, WCCS begins its Annual Fund Campaign which is necessary to receive contributions to address the needs of its school.

Be reminded that tuition covers the operational budget only.  We are debt-free.  All contributions collected are for opportunities and priorities that tuition cannot cover.

Is this a new program?  Why haven't I heard about it before?

In past years, the Annual Fund Campaign has taken a passive approach.  Beginning this year, we are taking a more proactive approach to "market" the needs of the school.

We feel God has great things planned for WCCS.  This formal program is one way of "getting the word out" that the school truly needs the support of all parents, families, friends and constituents of Westminster Catawba Christian School.

Annual Growth Fund Update

As of the week of 5/6-5/13, we have received $95,785 bringing us closer to our $100,000 goal.   We can do it but not without 100% participation of our WCCS Family.

Our committee members have been working non-stop for our school, reaching out to the Rock Hill community Business Leaders, whom our families support.  However, this is our school, and it should ultimately be use that we depend upon for our own success.

With this thought in mind, if you have not already sent in your pledge or monetary gift, please send it as soon as possible.  Remember 1) Tuition covers only the operating costs of the school.  Annual Fund dollars go toward other critical costs and projects.  2) You may designate where you want your dollars to go i.e.:  Capital Campaign, Teacher Endowments, Athletic Fund, Computers, Scholarships, the list goes on.

No gift is too small or too large!  All are blessed equally.
