Hali Christopher is the Middle School and High School Theater Director. Mrs. Christopher has a rich history working in the community through theater. She has held creative and leadership positions with the University of South Carolina Children’s Theater, Trustus Theater, and The Grande Theater. Additionally, she has been involved with applied theater applications through the Teen Institute, Lexington/Richland Alcohol and Drug Abuse Center, and South Carolina Law Enforcement Division D.A.R.E. program. Through all of these activities Mrs. Christopher has gained extensive experience as a performer, director, choreographer, costuming, lighting, set design, and make-up.
Mrs. Christopher received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC and her Master of Arts in Theater Production and Design from Southern Oregon University. Professional memberships include International Thespian Society, Metrolina Theater Association, South Carolina Theater Association, and Educational Theater Association. She is also active in her church, Westminster Presbyterian Church in Rock Hill, SC as a youth leader and working with a variety of creative ministry teams. Mrs. Christopher lives in Rock Hill, SC with her husband Joe, and daughter, Lane, a WCCS graduate.
Alyssa Hardy serves as the Upper School Visual Arts Teacher. Mrs. Hardy is a 2010 graduate of Erskine College with a degree in visual arts. Alyssa is also an WCCS alumna from the Class of 2006. Mrs. Hardy has experience with a variety of artistic media, including practical applications. She also has extensive experience as an art gallery educator, director and curator. Alyssa lives in Rock Hill, SC with her husband where they are actively involved in her local church.
Mrs. Susan Herron is the Early Elementary Music Teacher at WCCS. Mrs. Herron has a wide variety of experience as a musician, including piano, voice, and traditional band instruments. She has won numerous awards as a pianist, including a television appearance in the South Carolina Teachers of Music competition. Mrs. Herron also has an extensive resume as a vocal performer with stage productions at Carowinds and Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. She is also active in the community as a Kindermusik instructor and working with worship teams and children’s choirs at First Baptist Church in Rock Hill, SC.
Mrs. Herron received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Converse College where she studied piano and voice. She currently lives in Rock Hill, SC with her husband and three children.
Mrs. Melanie O'Neal is the Middle School and High School Choral Director and teaches general music for grades one through five at WCCS. Currently in her seventh year at WCCS, Mrs. O’Neal previously taught music at Charlotte Country Day, Rock Hill School District, and Oakland Day School. In addition to her teaching ministry, Mrs. O’Neal serves as pianist at Oakland Baptist Church in Rock Hill, SC, is a regular accompanist for the Festival By the Sea youth choir in Myrtle Beach, SC, and served as the accompanist for the South Carolina All-State Choir in 2008.
Mrs. O’Neal received her Bachelors of Music Education from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC. She holds professional memberships in the National Association for Music Education, South Carolina Music Educators Association, and the South Carolina Choral Directors Association. Mrs. O’Neal lives in the Rock Hill, SC area with her husband and three children.
Mrs. Julie Stanford is the Elementary Art Teacher at WCCS. Julie attended Winthrop University and holds a Master of Arts in Teaching with a focus on Early Childhood Education as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Fine Art. She joined the WCCS community in 2011. Mrs. Stanford is a professional member of the National Art Education Association. She and her husband are members of Westminster Presbyterian Church and reside in Rock Hill with their three daughters.
