Athletics - Policies

WCCS Indians

Athletic Competition at WCCS is guided by the following ideals:

Athletes will:

  1. Represent Christ in their actions both on and off the field.

  2. Play hard within the rules of the game.

  3. Respect officials and accept their decisions.

  4. Never play with the intent to injure an opponent.

  5. Win with humility and lose without excuses.

  6. Respect the property and facilities of opponents.

Coaches will:

  1. Serve as Godly role models for their players.

  2. Inspire in their players a love for the game and the desire to compete.

  3. Teach that it is better to lose fairly than to win unfairly.

  4. Show restraint and respect when dealing with officials.

  5. Hold their players accountable for their actions.

  6. Pray regularly with and for their players.

Eligibility Guidelines

Medical/Insurance Requirements:  No student is permitted to tryout, practice, or play on a WCCS athletic team without a physical exam and insurance verification form.  These forms may be picked up at the athletic office.

Academic Requirements:  Student must take and pass at least six one-unit subjects and have a 2.00 GPA on a quarter basis.  If a student does not meet this standard, the student will not be eligible to participate in extra curricular events until the mid marking period or until grade reports are issued.  At the end of each grading period in any school year, a student must meet this same standard to be eligible for the following grading period.

Conduct Requirements:  All athletes are expected to behave in such a way as to bring honor and glory to our Savior.  Athletic participation is a privilege and failure to abide by our school code of conduct may result in students forfeiting their eligibility.  Any school probations will carry over to athletics.
