A
Great Senior Retreat!

The
senior retreat provided a great opportunity
for seniors to spend time together away from
a school setting to grow in class unity, set
class goals for their senior year, and to simply
enjoy each other's company. They spent time
in worship, prayer, brainstorming, sharing,
and playing. Mr. Baniszewski, Mr. Casey, and
Mr. Krueger each had a session with the seniors
to guide them in preparing for a successful,
fruitful, and remarkable senior year. The verses
that they reflected on came from Romans 12:
2 "Do not conform any longer to the
pattern of this world, but be transformed by
the renewing of your mind. Then you will be
able to test and approve what God's will is-
his good, pleasing, and perfect will,
1Thessalonians 2:8 "We loved you so
much that we were delighted to share with you
not only the gospel of God but our lives as
well, because you had become so dear to us,
and the book of Daniel. They were challenged
to ask themselves what legacy they would leave
at WCCS that would characterize their leadership
and their senior year, and they responded to
that challenge with a commitment to put action
to their faith and walk out their relationship
with Christ before the school community. We
look forward to an exciting year!

Congratulations
WCCS
Football
Team!

CN2
awards an athlete in our conference weekly based
on attitude, athletics and academics.
Friday night was a special night. Though
this award is typically given to an individual,
CN2 recognized our entire team for the 45-0
win against Southlake and also for honoring
the memory of Brian Colvin, the Lewisville High
School Running Back that tragically passed away
after playing WCCS in the Chester Jamboree.
Congratulations to our Indians.

Hosts Lewisville Varsity
Football Team in Honor of Colvin

WCCS
was proud to host the Lewisville Varsity Football
Team at Friday night's game against South Lake.
The week prior in the Chester jamboree, Brian
Colvin, senior running back for the Lions, tragically
passed away after the game. WCCS dedicated
the first ballgame of the season to Colvin.
The game ball was given to Mrs. Colvin in honor
of her son.
Angie
Conner, LHS Athletic Booster Club President,
commented, "Our team really enjoyed themselves,
and Mrs. Colvin and the family as well. For
the short time I was there, I loved the atmosphere
and the generosity of Westminster Catawba. It
was AWESOME!!!!"

WCCS
Students Receive Exceptional Scores
on National Latin Exam
The
scores on this year's National Latin Exam were exceptional.
Only 4% of all students who took the first year exam 795
students out of 18,800 in the US and 14 other countries
attained a perfect score. We had 5 students Elise
Denney, Ax Dillingham, Hayden Childress, Will Mc Cutchen,
and Graelyn Humiston achieve that milestone.
Also,
for the third year exam, less than ½ percent
of all students globally 568 out of 138,000 got a perfect
score. William McDonald was one of
them. (This was his second perfect score in the 2 ½
years he has been here.)
This
is a noteworthy accomplishment for the students, for Mrs.
Heinzl, and for WCCS. Please congratulate these individuals
on their success when you have an opportunity to do so.

ACSI
Accreditation Update
The
faculty are starting their study groups to lay the foundation
for our work on curriculum mapping. Our ultimate goal
is to strengthen the instructional program at WCCS through
the reaccreditation process in Grades K-12 as faculty study
areas such as critical thinking, developmentally appropriate
practices, national standards, curriculum mapping, assessment,
and biblical worldview. The REACH process will give
our K3 & K4 programs initial certification with ACSI.
