Athletes named to Herald's
All-Area
Sports Teams
Three
WCCS athletes have been selected to the Herald's All-Area
sports teams. From our varsity girl's soccer team, Kathryne
Perrill was one of 3 keepers chosen while Caitlin Selle was
selected for her play as a mid-fielder. Brad Adams was
honored from our varsity baseball team with a batting average
of .417. This is quite an accomplishment for these athletes
and WCCS as the tri-county area has some very talented programs!

a Great Season!

WCCS
played a great match against Calvary Baptist School in the
second round of the State Tournament. Our team played
a tough match but lost 0-4. Way to go Lady Indians for
a great season!!

Valis Awarded
CN2
Athlete of the Week

WCCS
Junior, Alex Valis, was presented with the CN2 Athlete of
the week. Kelvin Thomas, CN2 reporter, came to campus
to interview Alex, his coaches and teammates and made the
trophy presentation. In the first victory of the season
for the boy's varsity soccer team, goalie Alex Valis had 14
saves in the win against Camden Military Academy Monday, March
8. His efforts, combined with those of his teammates,
contributed to a 2-0 shutout of Camden Military Academy.

Varsity
Co-Ed Swim Team has Great Success at MAC Conference
Our
varsity co-ed swim team enjoyed tremendous success at the
MAC Conference tournament. Each of our swimmers, for
the second year in a row, qualified for the state meet which
will be held in Huntersville on February 22nd. Our girls
finished in 3rd place, the boys finished in 4th place and
overall, the team placed 3rd. While the team collected
several second and third place awards, Matthew Lollis took
first place in the 100 meter free style race.

Signing Day
Casey/Pickel
Sign Letters of Intent
with
Davidson and North Greenville

WCCS
Senior, Dan Casey, will be signing with Davidson as a defensive
back/safety. Dan is on our highest honor roll and as a point
of reference, only 26% of students that apply to Davidson
are accepted. Dan was the number one defensive recruit for
Davidson's class this year. Dan was one of 2 selections from
WCCS to be chosen to play in the Oasis Shrine Bowl Classic
and was named to both the All Conference and All State Teams.
WCCS
Senior, Wil Pickel, will be signing a dual Letter of Intent
with North Greenville. Wil will have the distinction
of playing both soccer and football. Wil was the overall
number one recruit for this class at North Greenville.
Wil also received the highest honor of being chosen for the
All Conference and All State Football Teams, and was named
soccer defensive player of the year. We are so proud of these
student athletes!

Cheerleaders Compete in Co-Ed Varsity Division and Win All
Four Specialty Awards!

On
January 1-2, 2010, the WCCS Cheer Team (Andrea Bagley, Lane
Christopher, Baxter Morgan, Madi Morgan, Taylor Morgan, Madison
Morris, Tas Peeples, Julia Morgan Russo, Kaitlyn Tompkins,
Lindsay Weaver and Sarah Williams with coaches Hali Christopher
and Jimmy Bagley) traveled to Orlando, FL to compete in the
National Christian Cheerleading Competition sponsored by Fellowship
of Christian Cheerleaders, a non-profit ministry organization
based in Georgia. The competition began with Junior,
Andrea Bagley, placing 2nd in her division of 11th/12th graders,
and the varsity team winning all four specialty judges awards
including: Best Choreography, Best Jumps and Gymnastics,
Best Stunts and Best Showmanship!
On
Saturday, the crowd gave a standing ovation as the WCCS team
concluded their final cheer. They were awarded 1st
place in their division and also placed 2nd out of the 95
schools present for the Grand Champion title. We are
so proud of our incredible cheer team!

Kylie
Andert made the All-Conference team for Varsity Volleyball.
This is the 2nd consecutive year that Kylie has earned this
honor!
Our
Varsity Volleyball team qualified to play in the State Playoffs.

Congratulations
on a Great Season!

Our
varsity football team finished a great season making it to
the semi-finals of the State playoffs finishing their season
8-4. They played a tough game but lost to Harrells Christian
14-0. Thanks to all the players and fans for an awesome
season. Go Indians!

Coach
of the Year
and
Five WCCS Players Make
All-State; Six Make All-Conference
The
Carolina Peidmont Football Conference (CPFC) named Coach McGarity
as Coach of the Year and five players to the All-State and
All-Conference Team. The WCCS players are Andrew Duvall
(OL), Wil Pickel (K), Ian Brandt (DL), Dan Casey (DB) and
Peyton Hinson (LB). Brodrique Moore (RB) made All-Conference.
The entire WCCS Family is thrilled that after going 2-8 last
season, our athletes are being honored for their efforts to
earn this very prestigious honor. They have performed at the
highest level and most importantly have done so while glorifying
God.

|
