Upper School Profile

Academic Profiles:
Students in our high school take the Scholastic Achievement Test (SAT) and the Practice Scholastic Achievement Test (PSAT). The average score on the SAT from the 2001-2002 school year was 1124. The following chart shows how WCCS students rank academically:

Merit Scholars:
The National Merit Scholarship Program has informed us that 2 of our Junior students are eligible for competition for the National Merit Finalists Scholarships.  Congratulations to Webb McArthur and Steven Roach!

Community Service:
Community service is a requirement of all WCCS graduates. 
The students in grades 9-12 have collectively accumulated almost 3000 hours serving and ministering to their communities.

The members of the class of 2002 perpetuate WCCS's legacy of academic excellence.

The class of 2002 was offered approximately $400,000 in scholarships.  These scholarships include:  S.C. Life Scholarship, William Hill Scholarship, University of Miami Scholarship, USC Academic Scholarship, Charleston Southern Scholarship, Student of the Year Scholarship, Clemson University Academic Scholarship, Presbyterian Scholarship, Cedarville College Scholarship, Grove City Scholarship, Geneva College Scholarsip, and National Merit Scholarship.   97% of the class will matriculate to 4 year colleges and universities while the remaining 3% will attend a school with a college transfer program.

Quality Point Average:
A quality point system is used to determine grade point averages. Grades earned in all academic courses, including honors courses taken in the eighth grade, are used to compute GPAs. Advanced placement courses are computed on a 5.0 scale, honors courses on a 4.5 scale, and, standard college-prep courses on a 4.0 scale.
