Position: WCCS Chaplain
College & Degree: B.S. Elementary Education, Messiah College
Jean-Rene' Tassy is my given name. Jake, Mr. T., Coach are my nicknames. I currently serve as Chaplain and Varsity Guys Soccer coach. I grew up near Niagara Fall/Buffalo, NY. My Pops is a Haitian, retired Collegiate Soccer Coach and my Mom was a German Swedish, retired Educator/Administrator. I have one brother who with his wife owns a candle business. I've been faithfully married 26 years to the beautiful Dutch farm girl I met in college, who serves as WCCS's High/Middle School Administrative Assistant, Katie Tassy. Our oldest Son works interior carpentry, our daughter is soon to be an Elementary School teacher who can speak Spanish and sing, and you might see our 2021 Senior youngest in plays & musicals at WCCS. We've served in schools, churches, inner city, & overseas settings on behalf of students & their families. We love the school, church and family connection. I still love all kinds of sports, I love seeing the "Ah-Ha" moments in students. I love diversity. I love that Jesus died so that all nations can join Him in heaven. I love to build relational bridges. I love being a part of a team. I love God's word. I love the good news of the Gospel. I love helping folks see that living for Him is never boring. Prov. 3:5-6, Micah 6:8, Acts 4:12-13, 2 Corin. 5, 1 Corin. 16:13-14 are some of my favorite verses that keep me focused on loving God and others well.

Share a moment from your time here at WCCS that stands out as something you never want to forget.
One of our student athletes final got his chance to come into a game. The other guys on the bench asked me to take a picture of this athlete so they could send it to his parents. It was with a heart to celebrate their teammate's opportunity. Very cool moment.
